ASSHOLES, WANTON SOUP, DOLLAR BILLS, PATRIOTISM

So I went to the Chinese buffet down the road from work today because I was a mornon and left my food in the hot car baking in the sun all day today. I'm sitting down at the table enjoying my Chinese food and noted three US Air Force soldiers sitting at a nearby table eating but really didn't pay much attention to them. That was until some jackass redneck hick, on the way out of the restaurant stops to tell them in a less than quiet manner that "you should be ashamed of yourselves for wearing a uniform in support of that jackass president that we have and that we should nor be forcing our beliefs down the throat of the god damn Iraqi scum". The guy then walked out of the restaurant. Two of the soldiers sat there with a look of shock on their face which then turned to anger. The third soldier you could tell was fighting back tears.

A minute or two later I noticed a gentleman walking around an stopping at all of the tables. He soon got to my table and asked if I had saw the display that had occurred a few minutes before. I replied "yes". He said that he was disgusted by the display and thought it would be a nice gesture if everyone in the restaurant gave a dollar to by the soldiers lunch in appreciation. I quickly reached for my wallet and gave him a dollar. He continued around collecting money until he had enough money to pay for 3 buffet lunches and went up to the cashier to pay. When it came time for them to pay the bill the waiter walked over to them and said the lunch was on the grateful patrons of the restaurant. They said thank you to everyone and proceeded to walk out of the restaurant to applause. They then turned to face the restaurant and paused and snapped a salute as they walked out the door.

FENWAY IS BIG PAPI'S HOUSE FOR 4 MORE YEARS!!!

Credit the Boston Red Sox management for getting a deal done with a player before the evil empire could offer a huge contract on the free agency market. Also credit Ortiz for loyalty and wanting to be a franchise player. Perhaps the days of the franchise player aren't gone forever.
