Credit the Boston Red Sox management for getting a deal done with a player before the evil empire could offer a huge contract on the free agency market. Also credit Ortiz for loyalty and wanting to be a franchise player. Perhaps the days of the franchise player aren't gone forever.

I love Papi, and he deserves every cent.
Although, he only has 2 home runs this year. Yeah, I know it's early, but Bronson Arroyo has 2 already. :)
WOOOOOHOOOO! All the pink hat wear-ers can keep their papi jersies because they are so cute! (yes, really heard a nurse make a comment to that effect at work yesterday!)
In reality, I am SO happy to see that he is staying! At least I will know 2 players!
